OH! Dilly what a fantastic book to find. Maybe they have that book at your library.
When I was a kid we made up a game called "Swamp Stomping". We played it in the spring as the ice was beginning to melt on the swamp. Stomp, stomp, stomp on the thin melting ice until we sank down in the mud. Our moms were not happy with us covered head to toe in muck and mud.
